XML: Universal, Structured Data
XML helps Morse Best clients maximize the value of partnerships by supporting the easy exchange of information with suppliers, buyers, and partners; facilitating EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) through the Internet; enabling new business-to-business data exchange formats; and simplifying integration with new business partners.
Morse Best’s XML-based applications expose business data from existing systems directly to the Web, provide a "common ground" for disparate data sources, simplify the network interchange of data using standard formats, and automate business transactions.
Morse Best uses XML to help clients improve customer relationships by delivering personalized information, providing information to multiple devices, enabling new distribution channels for products and services, responding more quickly to customer needs, and speeding new products to market.
Web Services
In the last few years, the software industry has changed dramatically. End users can now gain direct access to software services over the Internet. The trend moves software away from monolithic, fat client–hosted and maintained applications toward a new development model that is often called "Web services." The concept of Web services goes beyond hosted discrete or stand-alone software applications—it extends beyond current server-hosted and maintained Web-based applications to include software components that are spontaneously discovered, connected, and combined to address business challenges. XML is the prominent technology enabler in this phase of the concept's evolution.
Through client engagements, Morse Best is demonstrating that Web services are profoundly and positively affecting the way businesses implement and use software systems to get work done.
.NET Platform
Microsoft .NET is a set of Microsoft software technologies used to connect information, people, systems, and devices. With .NET, an unprecedented level of software integration is made possible through the use of XML Web services: small, discrete, building-block applications that connect to each other — as well as to other, larger applications — through the Internet. .NET-connected software gives developers the tools they need to create XML Web services and stitch them together. One such outcome of using .NET is a seamless, compelling experience with information sharing.
As a Microsoft Certified Partner and Microsoft vendor, Morse Best has over three years of experience with .NET technologies gained from working for Microsoft on internal product development initiatives. Our development teams have written product extensions for Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, SharePoint Portal Server, BizTalk Server, and the Microsoft Office System. Morse Best is engaged in the collaborative development of .NET-based Web services with clients, working to expand system capabilities with the new technology. Morse Best has deployed .NET-based systems from online procurement to data warehousing for clients including Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, HouseValues.com, Car Toys, AJ Prindle (A Ford Venture Group Holding), and the State state of Washington.
Microsoft server products offer a comprehensive range of solutions for building an integrated and flexible business infrastructure. Used for a wide variety of purposes, including messaging, collaboration, database management, e-commerce, and mobile information access, Microsoft servers offer the scalability, reliability, and manageability today's agile businesses need to remain competitive. Morse Best is well-versed in the entire suite of .NET Enterprise Server products available from Microsoft.
Morse Best's work as a Microsoft vendor includes the original ITG X65000 online helpdesk and content management tools for the MSN 2.0 launch, comprehensive product showcases for executive management keynote addresses, and competitive analysis studies for Microsoft field sales teams. In general, we act as a local development resource to Microsoft product teams, providing keen insight into emerging technologies and demonstrated customer needs.
Mobile Platform Development
Morse Best develops prototypes and technical concepts that drive innovative mobile solutions for major software companies, device manufacturers, and wireless operators. From defining a target mobile application and developing a business case, through creating an action plan and prototype for successful implementation, Morse Best helps organizations:
- Evaluate cutting-edge technologies that offer potential for increasing business performance and competitiveness.
- Validate mobile technology and applications that extend enterprise infrastructure and add business value through new usage models.
